Candle Care Tips

Please remember that candles contain an open flame and should always be used with care. For the safety of you and your family, we encourage you to follow our universal candle care and safety guide.

 ⚠️ Safety Warning

For your safety and to ensure optimal candle performance, please follow these guidelines:

    • First Burn: Allow the candle to burn for at least 4 hours during the initial use to prevent tunneling.
    • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
    • Always keep candles out of reach of children, pets, and away from drafts. Drafts can cause uneven burning, excess soot, and may overheat the jar.
    • Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable items such as curtains, bedding, books, or décor.
    • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to ensure a clean, long-lasting burn and reduce soot.
    • Do Not Burn Overnight: Do not use candles as night lights or leave them burning while sleeping.
    • If the jar becomes too hot, extinguish the flame and allow it to cool completely before relighting.
    • Discontinue use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains. To safely enjoy the remaining wax, consider using a wax melter.
    • Allow the candle to cool and solidify completely before handling or relighting.
    • Discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container
    • BURN SMART & SAFE

CANDLE MEMORY

The first burn is very important. Allow your candle to burn for a minimum of four hours. This helps the wax melt evenly across the entire surface and supports a consistent burn throughout the life of the candle. If this step is skipped, tunneling may occur.

While there are methods to correct a tunneled candle, the best approach is prevention: allowing the candle to burn uninterrupted for the full four hours on its first use.

*******Due to the tulip-style design of our jars, it's normal for a small amount of wax to remain along the sides. This wax will gradually melt and even out as the candle continues to burn. ******

TRIMMING YOUR WICK

As your candle burns, carbon buildup may occur on the wick, often appearing as a "mushroom" shape. To ensure optimal performance and a clean, even burn, always trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each use and remove any carbon buildup.

You can use wick trimmers, scissors, or even a nail clipper for this task. If none are available, allow the candle to cool completely and gently remove the excess carbon with your fingertips.

Regular wick trimming is essential—not optional—for maintaining a clean-burning, long-lasting candle.

Failing to trim the wick can cause the flame to grow too large, resulting in a faster burn rate and potential safety hazards. An untrimmed wick may also produce excess soot, which can discolor the jar and affect the overall appearance of your candle.

Trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before each use helps ensure a slower, cleaner, and more even burn. If your candle jar becomes too hot, extinguish the flame and allow it to cool completely before relighting.

For the best and safest experience, always trim the wick before each burn.
